STAY cool, geek

Brand & Content Strategy | Podcast Production

To support the release of his independent feature film, Son of Ghostman, filmmaker Kurt Larson needed new ways to connect with potential audiences. Together with Kurt, I developed Stay Cool, Geek, a weekly, hour-long podcast exploring what it means to be a Star Wars-watching, Marvel comic-reading geek, while trying to remain a well-balanced adult pursuing a life-long dream. After overseeing its launch, I produced 100 episodes of the show over a two year period. I also designed the original logo, podcast cover art, and other collateral graphics used on Stay Cool, Geek and Kurt's own web site.

In October of 2014, I produced a live event that included a screening of Kurt's film — which went on to win the coveted Rondo Hatton Award for best Independent Feature — as well as a live podcast with Kurt and fellow podcaster Bart Scott, recorded at the historic Raue Theater in Crystal Lake, IL.
